How to Perform a CD Backup of your Critical Data

1) Purchase a quality CD-RW disk (Memorex, TDK, Sony, etcetera).

2) Insert the disc into your CD Burner.

3) Double-click on 'My Computer'.

4) Double-click on your CD Burner's drive's icon.

5) In the upper-left hand corner of the window, you may see a phrase that says, "Erase this CD-RW." If you see the phrase, single-click it. If you don't see it, you can skip to step 7.

6) Click 'Next' once the new window has popped up. Follow the prompts to erase the CD-RW.

7) Double-click on 'My Documents' (or wherever you store your information).

8) Drag-n'-Drop (or, Cut-n'-Paste) any file(s) to the CD-RW window you want to save to the disc.

9) Single-click on the CD-RW window and in the upper-left hand corner of the window click on, "Write these files to this CD." Single-click on this phrase.

10) Follow the prompts to burn the disc. To prevent errors, do not use the computer until the burning process is completed.
